As you may know, certain scents trigger a person’s mood, why not make homemade air fresheners to keep a positive outlook on a daily basis?
The store-bought air fresheners are so expensive!
You can easily make your own homemade fresh and delicious scents from ingredients you may already have in your home.
Always remember to keep the yummy smelling scents out of reach of young children and pets, whether they are store-bought or homemade.
Without further ado, let’s get started.
MASON JAR AIR FRESHENER FOR CLOSET, DRAWER, OR BATHROOM
It’s perfect for freshening up your clothes drawer, closet or any small space, such as the bathroom.
WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE THIS…
- Small / Medium Mason Jar with lid. Remove the center.
- 5in x 5in Fabric Circle
- Toothpick
- 2 TBSP Baking Soda
- 4 TBSP GAIN-In Wash Scent Booster
This idea is so quick and easy!
STEP 1: I added Baking Soda and Gain Scent Booster to a mason jar.
STEP 2: I cut out a 5in x 5in piece of fabric into a circle and poked holes in the center with a toothpick for ventilation. and screwed the lid back on. That’s it, it’s good to go!
AIR FRESHENER SPRAY FOR CAR, UPHOLSTERY, CLOTHING, or SMALL ROOM
This spray can be used on practically anything, such as the car, clothing, upholstery, shoes….anything!
WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE THIS…
- 4oz Spray Bottle with spray pump
- (optional) Label / Embellishment
- 2 TBSP GAIN- In-Wash Scent Booster
- 3 1/2 oz Distilled Water
STEP 1: Pour 3 1/2 ounces of hot water into a 4-ounce spray bottle. Drop 2 Tablespoons of the GAIN scent boost pebbles and give it a shake.
It will take several minutes for the scent boost pebbles to dissolve, once it does, give it another shake.
STEP 2: To make my embellishment I cut out a fabric circle the size of a quarter and hot glued a gem onto the circle, then hot glued the label to the bottle.
This took 5 minutes to make!
HOMEMADE DIFFUSER FOR ANY ROOM
This is one of my favorites, I mean it smells SO good!
WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE THIS…
- Bottle / Vase
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 3 Cinnamon Sticks
- 20 Drops Essential Oil / Warming Oil [I used leftover cinnamon & sandalwood warming oil and mixed them together.]
- 8 oz Distilled Water
This is an old Pier One Diffuser Bottle that I kept a long time ago. However, any bottle or vase can be used.
STEP 1: Pour water, vanilla, and oil drops into the bottle or vase.
STEP 2: Stir the mixture with the cinnamon sticks. TADA, you’re done!
SIMMER THE AROMA OF LEMON & HERB
If you’re into natural air fresheners, this one you’ll love.
WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE THIS…
- Small sauce-pan or Warming Pot
- 2 cups of water
- 4 tsp Vanilla
- 1 Orange Sliced
- 1 Lemon Sliced
- 1-2 stems Thyme
- 1-2 stems Rosemary
STEP 1: Prep the orange, lemon, thyme, and rosemary.
STEP 2: Place the orange, lemon, thyme, rosemary, water, and vanilla into a sauce-pan or warming pot and bring to a boil. Lower the heat to simmer.
Use caution; Don’t leave it unattended! Add water if needed throughout the day.
SCENTED POUCH FOR CLOTHES DRAWER OR CAR
These scented pouches are perfect for underneath the seats in your car, clothes drawers and those stinky shoes!
WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE THIS…
For one pouch you will need as follows:
- 6in x 6in Fabric Circle
- Scissors
- 8 in. Ribbon
- 1 TBSP GAIN-In-Wash Scent Booster
STEP 1: Gather your supplies.
STEP 2: Cut out a 6in x 6in fabric circle. I used a mason jar lid as a guide making my circle.
STEP 3: With the print side of the fabric face down, fill the center of the fabric with GAIN Scented Booster.
STEP 4: Gather and pinch the fabric together and tie a bow around it with the ribbon.
This scented pouch is the easiest & quickest DIY tutorial I’ve ever done! 🙂

YUMMY GUMMY BEAR WICKLESS GEL CANDLE
This is by far my FAVoriTE!!!! Place this anywhere in your home to smell the aroma of spicy-sweet madness!
KEEP THIS ONE OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN AND PETS!
WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE THIS…
- Small / Medium Mason Jar with lid [remove the center of the lid]
- Small Saucer / Pot
- Measuring Cup
- Small Pack Gummy Bears
- 2 Unflavored Gelatine Packets
- 20 Drops Essential Oil/Warming Oil, any scent.
- 1 Cup Distilled Water
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 Drops Food Coloring any color. I used red.
This recipe makes 2 small jars or 1 medium one.
STEP 1: Gather and prep all of the ingredients. Pour the measured water into a saucepan and bring to a small boil. Add the salt, gelatine, essential oil, and food coloring to the mixture and stir constantly until all is combined and dissolved. Remove from heat and set aside.
STEP 2: Fill the mason jar with the gummy bears and carefully pour the mixture of gel over the gummy bears. Top with more gummy bears, only if you haven’t eaten them already! I know you couldn’t resist! 🙂 Place the lid on the jar. Set aside to let it cure, or place it in the refrigerator to help it cure faster.
Voila’, you’re done!
