Hi, and welcome! This post is my first blog post on Makes and Munchies!
I’m Michelle, the maker, hacktivist, and blogger behind Makes and Munchies. When the idea of writing my first blog post came up, it intrigued me and intimidated me at the same time.
It’s a giant leap for me to be out of my comfort zone: however, each step that I have taken on my creative journey has opened up new possibilities for me, and I find that to be very exciting.
As I take this leap, I would love to have you along for the ride with me. I hope this blog will inspire you to try something on your own, to get creative and discover your passions.

Before we get started, I want to give a special thanks to my husband Bryan & family, for their patience, understanding, and support during the making of this blog. And, thank you, Michael Pozdnev, with iwannabeablogger, I respect your great advice and know-how.
WHY AM I STARTING A BLOG?
I am starting this blog as a creative outlet to document my DIY makes and recipes of meals that I make at home. At the same time, I’d like to share with you my project ideas and guide you step by step on how to get the same results.
I will offer Step by Step tutorials, many images, videos, and downloads for my projects and recipes.
Have you ever wanted to try a project you’ve seen on the internet and were stoked to get started, but the instructions were not detailed enough, or something was missing, or it just didn’t make sense?
Not being clear on instructions happens quite often. Not having direction is so annoying and a waste of time for readers.
Don’t get me wrong; there are handfuls of talented DIY, craft and recipe bloggers out there whom I greatly respect and offer a high-five. They are amazing and have a great direction! I will share who they are in a separate post soon.
Be that as it may, there are others with many creative project ideas with beautiful images, but the projects have been more of a show & tell post, rather than the steps on how to get the same results.
There’s nothing wrong with Show & Tell posts, I will have some myself, but they will be labeled as such beforehand. The reader can decide whether to read more or move on. No time to waste in this busy and fast world in which we live. Win, win!
I want to be your Go-To-Girl for projects with a simple detailed direction.
Whether I have accomplishments or flippin’ disasters working on recipes or DIY projects, I will share them with you so together we can live and learn, so the next time we’ll have ultimate results.
Maybe you will feel inspired, and possibly a little bit comforted knowing that someone is going to walk you Step By Step through a DIY project or a recipe you’d like to try. 🙂
MAKES AND MUNCHIES IN DETAIL
As mentioned above, this blog is my creative outlet. Here is where I bring my creative passions to life, as well as sharing my MAKES and MUNCHIES with you.
My Makes…
My makes will include many projects such as furniture & home decor transformations by repurposing, up-cycling, and revamping things into something more beautiful and on a budget.
I plan on having many craft ideas and projects, as well as the beloved roundups that we all crave! Stay tuned; those are around the corner and coming soon.
To give you an idea of some of the projects on my Makes, you can check them out below.
My Munchies…
My munchies will include meals I make for my family. I do not claim to be a chef or nutritionist by any means, to get that out there.
I’m sharing my recipes with those who would like to make homemade comfort foods with love. Some of the recipes are simple, and some take a little time but are well worth the wait.
The meals will include breakfast, lunch, dinner and appetizers, munchies, snacks, and desserts. I love making homemade meals for ON-THE-GO. So you can expect a lot of that.
This blog isn’t for you if you want complicated DIY projects and recipes with weird ingredients you can’t find in your local grocery store.
If you’re good with that, then I think we’re going to be BFF’s.
To give you an idea of some of the recipes on my Munchies, you can check them out below.
Free Printables
I’m also offering my readers a resource library of free printables, checklists, and more. I do accept printable ideas by request if what you’re looking for isn’t in the library. You can contact me here.
If you’d like to get free printables to the makes and munchies resource library as my other readers do, you can get them here.
