Rice Krispies Treats are always so fun to make and delicious any way you decide to make them. Trust me; I’ve made them every way you can imagine.
Years ago, I made Rice Krispies Treats with Fruity Pebbles & Cocoa Puffs cereal, and they were terrific!
This weekend I was in the mood for sweet madness, and this certainly hit the spot. Of course, the original Rice Krispies Marshmallow Treats would have been just fine, but I wanted to change it up a bit.
Bring on the chocolate and peanut butter cups!!! 🙂
There was nothing to it, follow the original recipe on your Rice Krispies cereal box or marshmallow package, then get creative with your favorite toppings.
So my dazzling darlings, are you in the mood for yummy Rice Krispie Ball Pops all jazzed up too?

STEP 4: Prep your wooden skewers.
STEP 5-8 How to Make Rice Krispie Pops
STEP 5: In a medium-sized bowl, add butter or margarine, vanilla, and salt. Microwave for 30 seconds, then stir. Add the marshmallows to the mixture and stir again until well coated.
STEP 6: Microwave for 1 minute and 30 seconds, then stir until completely melted.
STEP 7: Stir Rice Krispies cereal into your melted marshmallow mixture and cool for about 10 minutes. Spray cooking oil [any kind] onto your palms to keep the mixture from sticking to your hands. Using an ice cream scoop, scoop up a scoop full of the mix and cup into your palm. Put a peanut butter cup on top of the mixture on your palm.
STEP 8: With both hands, mold together the mixture to form a ball, set aside. Repeat steps 7-8 until all of the Krispie balls are complete.
STEP 9-11 How to Make Rice Krispie Pops
STEP 9: Attach the wooden skewers. Set aside Krispie balls for at least 30-45 minutes to cool and harden.
STEP 10: To melt the chocolate, place water into a small saucepan and bring to a small boil. Place chocolate bars or chocolate chips into a heat resistant measuring cup or dish. Place the cup into the saucepan with boiling water. As the chocolate melts, turn heat to simmer. Stir continuously until the chocolate is completely melted.
STEP 11: Remove from heat and pour into a mixing bowl.
STEP 12: Dip Krispies Ball Pops in chocolate and top with your favorite sprinkles and nuts. Enjoy!
HOW DO I STORE LEFTOVERS?
The Rice Krispie Pops can be stored in a plastic container and left out on the kitchen counter, or you may put it in the refrigerator. They are good for up to 4 days.
If placed in the refrigerator, allow the pops to sit at room temperature for at least 20 minutes.
